Concealer
After moisturizing, apply concealer to the inner corners of the eyes and underneath to cover dark circles. Try a yellow-based concealer to avoid looking washed out. Apply a small amount of concealer to the eyelid for a base foundation before applying shadow.
Sparingly use a foundation shade as close to your natural skin tone as possible and apply to any areas of the face that need evening out. A tinted moisturizer is especially well-suited for this look. Blend well.
| Blush |
Use a berry-colored blush that compliments your skin tone for a healthy glow. A cream or gel blush will work well for this look. Round faces look better with blush applied to the apple of the cheek, while narrower faces can take blush on the cheekbone. Apply a touch of blush to above the brows and on the chin to create a just-back-from-outdoors look.
| EYES |
| Eyelid |
Apply a gold pearly powder shadow across the entire lid.
| Crease |
Use the same gold shadow from your lid in the crease.
| Hilite |
Continue blending just a light touch of your gold shadow into your browbone area. Use a very light hand. Now, use a very light, pearly or sparkly lilac or pale blue shadow in just the inner corner of the eyelid. It should just "peek" out and blend slightly into the inner corner of the eye area. Blend gently. This creates an "angelic" effect.
| Eyeliner |
Select a very dark forest green or dark chocolate brown powder liner or shadow. Using a thin, damp brush, trace the top lash line. Use a light touch and try to just get the color in between the lashes. You can try dotting your way across the lashline and then going back and filling in where needed. Keep the line very delicate, just enough to make the eyes "pop." Next, very lightly trace the inner corner of your eyes. Leave the lower lashes un-lined.
Brows |
Use a brow wax, with a small brush to shape and fill in, or pencil. Start by defining the arch and then fill in the rest as necessary.
Lashes |
Curl lashes and coat two or three times with a black, thickening mascara. Part of Jewel's signature look are her dramatically curled and heavily mascara'd lashes. You might want to try this look at home before using it in public - it isn't for everybody! |
LIPS |
To get glass-smooth lips, try brushing them very gently with an old, soft toothbrush. Then apply petroleum jelly and allow it to soak in for 30 or more minutes.
Choose a lipstick in a berry shade that is very similar to your blush. Apply one coat of the lipstick and blot with tissue, then apply a second coat. Add a touch of clear gloss.
