1. Starting with dry hair, part your hair off to one side. Gather sections from the crown of your head and pull them together. Tease the hair and twist it into a bun, or use a Bumpit (admit it, you've seen the infomercials), to provide the illusion of a bun; the goal is to have the look of extra volume and height in the back.
2.Following the part you made earlier, where your hair sweeps across your forehead to one side, use a large-barrel curling iron to begin curling 1-inch sections of your hair until your whole head is a cascade of curls.
3. Gently separate the curls with your fingers, shaping how you want them to fall and loosening tighter curls into waves (so it doesn't look too done). Use a medium-hold hairspray to secure the style in place.
