Charlize Theron's soft, jumbo waves work for most any hair type -- but they are a bit of a time sucker. Consider yourself warned:
1. Spray roots at the crown of your head with volumizer and apply mousse and heat protectant spray throughout. Blow dry straight (or straight-ish) with a round brush.
2. If your hair (and your patience) can take it, set it in hot rollers. Otherwise, roll it in medium-sized Velcro rollers and go do something else for at least a half hour.
3. Remove rollers and finger comb gently to shape and place curls. Part hair to the side and set with hairspray.
