1. Start with day-old hair (spray roots with a dry shampoo if they look gross and oily).
2. Brush hair, part in the center, and wrap 1-inch pieces around an extra hot 1-inch curling iron, held straight up like a popsicle. Hold each curl for five seconds until you've done your whole head. (Break for snacks to avoid serious arm fatigue.)
3. Separate curls with fingers and spray hairspray for hold.
