1. Start by blow drying hair straight using a large round brush. Lift sections up and away from your scalp as you dry to boost volume at the roots.
2. Once hair is dry, mist 2-inch sections with a styling spray. Then, hold onto the ends of your hair and wrap each section around the outside of a large-barreled curling iron. Don't clamp hair in the iron, just use the outside to create a more subtle (read: chic) bend, rather than a full on (read: cheesy) curl.
3. Repeat previous step, alternating the direction in which you curl hair, until all sections are wavy. Next, gather your hair to one side -- be sure to leave a few wispy waves free in the front -- and twist into a messy bun. Pin in place.
4. Spritz with a light hold hairspray to finish and hold the style in place.
