Nicole Richie's updo with soft bangs frames her face for a sophisticated, romantic style. Here's how to get it:
1. Wash hair and apply a texturizing lotion. Textured hair is easier to keep in place for an updo look. Part hair to one side, and blow dry with a diffuser, using a round brush to smooth hair out.
2.If there are any frizzy or wavy sections, smooth them out further with a straightening iron. Lightly tease hair near the crown of your head to add volume.
3. Then, leaving bangs free, gather hair, pull it back into a ponytail and secure with an elastic band. Wrap the ends of the ponytail around the base and pin it into place.
4. Run bangs through a straightener, add a small amount of hair wax and sweep them across your forehead and off to the side.
5. Finger style a few wisps of hair to fall softly near your ears, and lock the look into place with a medium-hold hairspray.
