Nicole Richie's loose updo and darker color make for a sophisticated and romantic look. Steal her style:
1. Apply a texturizing lotion to damp hair, which makes it easier to keep an updo look in place. Part hair to one side, and blow dry with a diffuser, using a large paddle brush to smooth hair out.
2. If there are any frizzy or wavy sections, smooth them out further with a straightening iron. Then, leaving bangs free, gather hair, pull it back into a loose, low ponytail and secure with an elastic band. Wrap the ends of the ponytail around the base and pin it into place.
3. Run bangs through a straightener, add a small amount of hair wax and sweep them across your forehead and off to the side.
4. Finger style a few wisps of hair to fall softly near your ears, and lock the look into place with a spritz of shine spray and a misting of medium-hold hairspray.
