Editor’s Picks: Our Perfect Summer Outfits

Shorts + Kimono = Killer Combo

Tiffanie, Assistant Editor

The Key Pieces:

ASOS Kimono

Kimonos like this one will definitely be a summer staple for me. It’s sheer and lightweight but still serves as a cover-up for those not-so-sweltering summer nights. Plus, it’s printed! Thrown over a swimsuit, a breezy maxi or a pair of shorts, this look can do no wrong.

Melana Shorts

Shorts — one thing I can’t live without, regardless of the season. For summer, I’m opting for fun printed ones with a chic detailing like lace or a high-waist (hello, crop tops. These can be worn just as easily to a local cafe for brunch as a rooftop soiree.

The Accessories:

JustFab Zuri Wedges

While flats and stripy sandal heels have a special place in my summer wardrobe, wedges make any ensemble classic and warm-weather appropriate. The pop of color brings out the accent coral in the shorts and brighten the entire look altogether. And nothing beats a summer shoe you can walk for days in — be it festivals, farmer’s markets or day-trips spent exploring the city.

Quay Livnow Sunglasses

These gems add a subtle hint of color and have an interesting design — two things that make them so summer-appropes.

Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Ibiza

I will not be wearing a ton of makeup as it gets warmer, but I have to have a bright matte lip. This one stays on for days and since it’s matte, it won’t make my face look overly glossy and bright. No need to accent a glowy face (either purposefully or due to scorching hot temperatures) with an uber glossy bold lip.

L’Occitane Néroli & Orchidée Eau de Toilette

A classy scent that’s fruity and fun but still so elegant. The notes of white flowers, orchid and peach blend together so perfectly, I feel like I’m on vacation at first spritz.

Bare Minerals Bare Skin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20

Gives you perfectly radiant, glowing skin while hiding imperfections? Plus, it has SPF? I’m sold.
