While you won’t find T-shirts in every vintage store (most people consider vintage anything before the late ’60s — a time when T-shirts weren’t mass produced), there are a few stores that do carry tees from the ’70s and ’80s. Red Light Clothing Exchange is one of them. In fact, they have one of the largest vintage rock T-shirt collections in the country.

According to Easley, T-shirts are a pretty safe bet for a vintage novice. “I always look at T-shirts. It’s an easy shopping category for beginners since most of us have worn a T-shirt before, unlike say, a ’60s era dress.”
