Forget lipstick and curling iron tips -- this Fashion Week diary gives you a behind-the-scenes account of what really goes on backstage
Today I finally see some bold color backstage in the form of a purple smoky eye at Jill Stuart. While the undone hair trend continues, I love the way celebrity stylist Odile Gilbert (for Kerastase Paris) describes the look. "It's very natural with a bit of mousse," she says. "It's like a girl who went out the night before and now it's the morning. We're not using brushes -- I want it to be rock and roll, but clean and fresh at the same time."
And Gilbert isn't the only stylist to leave the brushes in her kit. The look at Alexander Wang is slick but natural; and at Tibi hairstylist Kevin Ryan for Aveda describes his messy bun creation as something that "intentionally looks like it's falling out."
