Stylish Ways to Wear Dirty Hair

dirty hair roll

Roll it up and away

This soft, lifted roll is a timeless look that also works when you don’t have time to wash your hair. Best of all, there’s no braiding involved. The hair is simply rolled and pinned. Here’s how Depeyrot and Scarbrough say to get the look:

1. First, take medium-sized sections of hair near the top and crown of your head. Mist each section with hairspray and lightly tease it with a teasing comb to create a base for the updo. Once you’ve done this all over, gently smooth your hair back with a boar bristle brush.

2. Next, divide your hair into three sections (left side, middle, right side). Roll the center section into a bun at the nape of your neck, and secure it to your head by crisscrossing a few bobby pins.

3. Now take the side section of your hair and twist it back toward your bun. When it reaches the bun, wrap it over it and tuck it into the bun, pinning it down with bobby pins. Do this on both sides of your head.

4. Use the end of a long tailed comb to tuck any ends sticking out. Spray your updo with shine spray for a more polished look.
