Here’s a simple way to add glamour to straight hair.
Step 1: Apply a volumizing styling mousse (try John Frieda Luxurious Volume Thickening Hair Mousse, $5.79) to clean, damp hair from roots to ends.
Step 2: Blow dry to 100 percent dry using a large round brush. “When your goal is sleek, straight hair, you want to blow dry it all the way until it’s silky smooth,” LeCompte says. “If you let it air dry at all, you’ll lose the polish.”
Step 3: Rub one drop of hair oil between your palms and swipe it over the ends for shine. (Try Moroccanoil, $32.94.)
