Shaggy Bob
Shorter in the back, longer in the front, this shaggy bob (a.k.a. “shabob,” there’s one of those quirky names again) was copied around the world and then some. The key is a stacked shape in back. “The shorter pieces in the rear gave Victoria’s hair volume at the crown, and that’s why it looked sexy, not boring.”
1. Apply mousse to boost body. (Try Kerastase Mousse Volumactive Amplifying Perfecting Mousse for Fine, Vulnerable Hair, $26.60.)
2. Blow dry with a large round brush. Lift the roots at the crown for volume, otherwise, brush forward as you blow dry the ends — this helps you get that falling-forward look.
3. Spray with light-feel aerosol hairspray. (Try L’Oreal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray, $25). Once it’s dry, flip your head upside down and shake the roots to loosen things up, and flip back up.
