Weather Proof Your Hairstyle

Weather condition: Humidity

I’ve got one word for you, say it with me: Frizz. The best way to prevent your hair from getting frizzy is to “make sure you dry your hair until it is 100 percent moisture-free,” says celebrity hairstylist Nathaniel Hawkins. If your hair is even slightly damp, “[it] will absorb moisture instantly as soon as you step outside,” he says. And any smoothness you have created with hot tools will just revert back to your natural texture. Bummer.

Once your hair is totally and completely dry, the next thing you’ll want to do is apply a product that contains silicone, which will coat your strands and sit on top of the hair shaft to protect it from humidity, says Hawkins. Try John Frieda Frizz-Ease Hair Serum, $6.50.
