Reese Witherspoon’s high ponytail is a fun and easy style from the ’50s — and is best created with second day hair. (FYI: This style also works with shorter hair. Jessee says to buy a clip-in hairpiece or extensions from your local beauty supply store.) Here’s how to get her look:

1. Apply volumizing product to your hair.

2. Lightly tease your hair at the crown of your head. This adds height to this simple pony.

3. Brush hair back and secure into a high ponytail with an elastic.

4. Wrap a small section of hair around the elastic to cover it and pin it into place underneath the base of the ponytail.

5. Spray the top and sides of the head with a strong-hold hairspray.

6. As for the tail, divide the hair into medium-sized sections. Using a 2-inch curling iron, curl those sections until the entire tail is curled.

7. Finally, mist the entire ponytail with a medium-hold hairspray.
