Lani Nguyen, 24, from New York City, felt like her straight, shoulder-length hair was a bore, so she sketched her ideal hairstyle, a hip angular bob, and her friend -- not a professional stylist -- started sheering (this girl is either our risk-taking hero or seriously insane, we can't decide). The outcome? "I love it," says Lani. And because her hair is so fine and straight, it falls perfectly into place -- except for the occasional cowlick. She doesn't even have to brush it. And now, after a few touch-ups, her friend is cutting her hair like a pro.
