No time for a shower? No worries. These styles will keep that day-old (or week-old) hair looking good, no matter the situation
To make this fishtail style last even longer and hold better, mist your hair with a volumizing spray like Phyto Maximizing Volume Spray, $28, and then blow dry it with a round brush. The alcohol in the product will soak up the oil and add volume, says New York City hairstylist Alejandra. Here's how celebrity hairstylist Sherri Jessee of Sherri Jessee Salon in Bristol, Virgina says to get the look:
1. Start by splitting your part to the side to create a deep side part. This helps conceal oily roots and makes the look more fun and asymmetrical, says New York City hairstylist Luca Blandi.
2. Bring all of your hair over one shoulder (on the side with more hair). Smooth it out with a boar bristle brush.
3. Separate your hair into two sections. Hold your hair loosely in your hands and alternate taking a large piece of hair from the outside of the left section and bringing it over to join it with the right section. Do this all the way down, alternating sides, until you reach the end of the fishtail braid.
4. Secure the ends with an elastic, and mist it with a ton of hairspray to keep it in place. Tug slightly on the edges of the braid to loosen it up a bit.
