12 ‘Hunger Games’ Tattoos

Do you hear that noise? It’s kind of like a whistle. Listen closely. Can you guess what it is? A mockingjay. Actually, a whole ton of mockingjays — and they are flitting around on the next slides. (You’ll see in a minute.)

With “The Hunger Games” set to open in just a few days, it seems like the entire world is going crazy. In New York City, hundreds of people camped outside Barnes & Noble for the chance to see their favorite cast members — and get their books signed by “The Hunger Games” author Suzanne Collins. Other fans stood for hours against metal barriers just to watch the stars walk the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere. (One sign read: This Capitol Girl Hearts Peeta). But all these peeps have nothing on the die-hards.

Who are the die-hards? You’re about to meet ’em in a sec. They are the girls (and guys) who actually got “Hunger Games” tattoos. Many of the tats feature mockingjays ’cause it’s the symbol from the cover of the first book (the symbol of rebellion throughout the series), but you might be surprised by some of the other ink.
