Bright Eyes: Prettiest Eye Trends

Exaggerated Cat Eye

If you love the retro cat eye look but haven’t tried it because you’re afraid you’ll wind up with a bunch of shaky lines drawn all over your face, try these tips and tricks for perfecting the signature cat eye “wing.” Wood tells us how to channel your inner Brigitte Bardot and get the look:

1. Using a liquid eyeliner like Benefit Magic Ink, $20, start by drawing on the winged “cat eye” part first.

2. Begin at the outer edge of the eye, and then curve the liquid liner upward. Paint in the direction of the end of your eyebrow, so that your wings are even on both sides, not lopsided.

3. After you’ve created the wing, paint small thin strokes along the top lash line and continue until you’ve created a smooth, connected line from the inner corner of your eye to the tip of your cat eye.

4. Finish with two coats of mascara.
