Best and Worst Celebrity Tans

Ever wonder how celebrities always look like they just jetted in from Aruba? Their tans are soo fab, and they’re bronzed to perfection. There’s gotta be some way to get that gorgeous glow without roasting under the sun. Right?

Well, the secret’s out of the bag (or the bottle in this case). It’s all about getting a perfect sunless tan that will fool everyone around you. We asked Victoria’s Secret celebrity makeup artist and bronzing expert, Meredith Baraf, how to get a glorious faux glow without the streaks, blotches and, most importantly, sun damage. She gave us some seriously helpful dos and don’ts to get your best sunless tan ever.

Just take a look at some of these perfect celebrity style tans and brush up on your tanning tips. You’ll love how easy it is to get a gorgeous sunless tan like the “best” celebrities in the gallery, like Kate Hudson, Heidi Klum, Eva Longoria, Jennifer Lopez, Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Aniston. But it’s also really common to make mistakes, so unless you want to look like a burnt, crispy French fry, take gooood notes on the “worst” celeb tans you’ll also see, including Lindsay Lohan, Brooke Hogan, Christina Aguilera, Victoria Beckham and Jessica Simpson.

It might seem like a no-brainer to you, but there are some simple, easily-forgotten tricks you can use to make sure you get a great sunless tan. According to Baraf, the top five tips are:

1. Exfoliate before self-tanning

2. Use a mirror throughout the application process

3. Get rid of blotches before they dry

4. Moisturize often to make your tan last longer

5. Wash your hands as soon as you finish

And once you’re rocking that gorgeous tan, play around with your makeup to enhance it. You can try a natural makeup look or a smoky eye look (both are great with tanned skin), but stay away from these worst makeup trends that gave us some serious “WTF?” moments.
