Prom Makeup Look: Hide Zits

Do: Keep that zit under wraps

The best way to look like you have clear skin at prom is to have clear skin, obviously. So try some preventative measures by washing your face day and night weeks before prom and applying acne treatments where you usually get zits. Also keep your caffeine and sugar intake to a minimum and load up on water — it’ll help flush the nasty stuff from your skin.

If you do get a zit that day (hey, it happens), DO NOT pop it. It’ll just look raised and red and be even harder to cover. Instead, apply a spot treatment to help dry it up, then use a powder foundation, like Clinique Clarifying Powder Makeup, $23, to cover it. The powder will absorb any oil and keep it hidden.

If acne scars are an issue, try applying a stick concealer on top of powder (yes, on top of the powder), it’ll slide around less.
