Textured nails

Oh, how we love this trend. It's simple to do, but it looks so cool, doesn't it? The textured effect comes from layering a matte polish and a shiny polish. First paint your nails with a matte nail polish and let it dry to a velvety finish. Then dip a small brush into a shiny polish in the same shade (or you can just use a clear topcoat) and swipe it across each nail to create several shiny stripes.

If you're feeling a bit more adventurous, try alternating between having the matte polish be the base and the stripes (pictured). We personally love how this looks in a dark, gunmetal color, but you can use any shade you prefer and get the same effect.
