We challenged ourselves to copy celebrity styles using only bargain products. You won't believe how it turned out
Celebrities have access to professional hairstylists and makeup artists and all the high-end beauty products they could ever want. So it's not exactly shocking when they look abso-freaking gorgeous all the time. (It also means they have no excuse for these worst celebrity makeup looks, just sayin'.)
But what about us regular girls? You know, the ones without a pro team, or the budget to buy out a Sephora every time we have to attend a party. Could we look just as good as our favorite stars? That's what we challenged ourselves to find out.
The rules were simple: pick a celebrity hairstyle and makeup look that you love and recreate it by yourself at home while only using products you could pick up at your local drugstore, Walmart or Target. No high-end products, no pro help. So did we succeed?
The answer: kind of surprisingly, yes. Granted, we weren't blessed with Gwyneth Paltrow's or Jessica Alba's bone structure, but as far as the hair and makeup went, it was pretty dang close. If you want proof, click here to see how our attempts at star style turned out.
Now, what was the point of this lil' exercise? Mostly, to prove that you don't need a mega budget to look fab. With a little bit of time (seriously, only a little, the longest any look took was about 20 minutes) and some creativity, you could look like a near-twin for Miley Cyrus, Jessica Alba, Vanessa Hudgens, Nicole Richie, Ashley Olsen, Camilla Belle, Kristen Stewart, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ashley Greene, Diane Kruger, Mila Kunis, Rashida Jones (our inspirations), or whoever.
