Do: Create a head-to-toe look

Babaian says, "prom is the Oscars of High School" (we couldn't agree more). So you want to make like a celebrity and create an overall look. This means your dress, shoes, hair, jewelry and makeup should all go together -- but they don't have to match exactly.

Try to keep things in the same tone or color family. Babaian says if your dress is in a warm color, like yellow, think browns, golds and reds for your makeup. You can also take a cue from your jewelry. Whether it's gold or silver, use the same color eyeshadow in the inner corners of your eyes for some extra sparkle.
