The ugly truth about what your interviewer sees from behind the desk (and won't tell you)
"One time, I interviewed a guy who just reeked of body odor. I didn't know whether he just happened to forget deodorant that day, or if he was just a generally stinky guy, but it was so distracting it sort of killed his chances," says the website editor.
The HR specialist agrees. "Once I had a candidate who was so nervous they broke out into a rash during the interview. At one point there was so much sweat on their brow, I wanted to hand them a towel," she says.
Moral of the story: Sweat stinks (literally). The more nervous you are, the more tense your body will get, which produces more sweat. The solution? Just relax. And don't forget to put on deodorant and take a few deep breaths before you walk in.
