Ultimate Fall Trends Guide

Pair it with nude makeup

“This is a gorgeous way to keep it autumnal during the daytime” when you’re out and about, says Ellis. Here’s how to copy Kristin’s casual makeup look:

Face: Stick to a light liquid foundation or a tinted moisturizer to keep it sheer and “glowy” for daytime, says Ellis. (Try Sonia Kashuk Tinted Moisturizer, $13.) “If you need to cover up dark circles, it’s fine to use a tiny dab of concealer. But otherwise, it’s best to leave your face clean,” she says. If you want to add a little color, you can dust some blush on your cheeks.

Eyes: To add a warm hue of color on your eyelids, blend a soft, neutral shade of shadow into your crease, says Ellis (try one like Mac Eye Shadow in Creme de Violet, $15). Instead of using harsh black liner, apply a darker shadow along your lash line with a thin, angled brush to create definition and keep it soft during the day.

Lips: Having too much color on your lips during daytime is distracting, so keep it simple, says Ellis. Apply a nude lipstick or a natural gloss on your lips for a sheer, pretty finish.
