Step 1: Apply a smoothing mousse from roots to ends and blow dry hair straight. (Try Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight Pin Straight Mousse, $3.39.)

Step 2: Run an open palm along the top of your hair and grab that into a section and pin it on top of your head.

Step 3: Brush the sides back and create a tiny ponytail at the back of your head. Place it where your head starts to slant down.

Step 4: Release the top section. It will hide the pony. Sneaky, huh?
