There’s something about Penelope Cruz’s updos that are just breathtaking — perhaps the way she parts the bangs, or maybe it’s because she’s just so freaking gorgeous. But after seeing her picture (while checking out my daily dose of celeb gossip, of course), I just had to try myself. I went for a sophisticated updo, but ended up taking my own spin on it.

First, I applied an anti-frizz serum, blow dried my hair with a paddle brush, and put it up into a high ponytail. Then, I wrapped the hair into a bun, and secured it into place with bobby pins. Finally, I parted my bangs down the middle, sprayed in place, then wrapped a scarf around my head (right behind my bangs) and tied it near the nape of my neck. I’m no Cruz, but I did feel pretty proud of this one.
