In the movie “Anchorman” Will Ferrell says, “You stay classy San Diego,” and for some reason today, the phrase spoke to me, and I too wanted to keep it classy. The goal here was a sleek chignon, a professional, not-a-hair-out-of-place look (although you can see here, I did have a hair that went rouge, just like Sarah Palin).

To get the look, worked in some smoothing cream to my damp hair, then I blow dried it straight with a paddle brush, teased the section near the back of my crown, then smoothed the top layer over. I then created a slight part, doused my hair in holding spray, and combed it back, making sure to keep the part, and secured it into a low ponytail. I finished off by wrapping my hair around the band so it would keep as a bun, pinned into place, then doused it once more with hairspray. Let’s just say I was on fume overload after this one.
