Makeup for Diamond Faces Like Kerry Washington’s: Focus on Your Eyes
With a diamond-shaped face, your upper cheekbones are the widest part of your face, says Babaian. To minimize that area, stay away from a cat eye look, which will only make your face look wider, since you’re extending the line of your eyes. Instead, focus all eye makeup on the center of your eyes to help narrow your face.
Here’s how to get Kerry Washington’s dolled-up look:
1. Instead of applying blush directly onto the apples of your cheeks, sweep it underneath your cheekbones to draw attention away from the center of your face, says Babaian.
2. When applying your eye makeup, draw your shadow and liner on a bit thicker near the center of your lids, and avoid extending any lines past the outer corner of your eye.
3. Then apply a thicker coat of mascara on the middle of your lashes to create the doll eye effect. For an even more glamorous effect, apply a few individual lashes on the center of your lash line.
4. Finish with a nude lip to create a wider look near the jawline, which will help add balance to your face.
