Inspired by celebrity makeup artist Molly Stern’s demonstration for CoverGirl yesterday, I decided to pair a “rainbow smoky eye” with pinky-nude lips — muy adventurous. To do so, I used a combination of yellow, green and blue eye shadows, and CoverGirl LiquilineBlast in Green Glow and Violet Voltage, $7.99. I blended the lids very well, making sure the darker colors were close to the lash line and the lighter colors were closer to the brow bone (like a, well, rainbow). The blue shadow was so pretty, it made it to the lower lash line as well. At the very last minute, instead of pairing the eyes with nude gloss, I thought a shiny bubble gum pink like L’Oreal Infallible Lip Gloss in Bloom, $9.99, would be more fun.
