If you haven’t seen this glam trend before, just take a look at any picture of Dita Von Teese (pictured, bottom). The star loves to paint her nails like this — it’s so 1940’s of her, don’t you think?

To get it, just paint your entire nail except for the half-moon shape at the base of your fingernail. Draw a precise line around the shape using a nail art pen (try Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen, $7.48). You can either leave the half moon nude or paint it in with another color (which is what we did). The end result is very classic and retro.
