Unlike those ombre skinny jeans you bought, summer knits are not going anywhere fast. While they are a current trend, Miller says, “Knit sweaters will never go out of style. Today, you may wear it out to the club, and five years from now, you can wear it on a lazy Sunday.” Sanders agrees: “I have been collecting summer knits for years.”

They also don’t have to be strictly for summer. “Summer knits will take you all the way through fall. Depending on the fabric and color you can then layer them differently and wear them all year long,” says Sanders. That’s why it’s important to look for high quality knits in classic styles to insure they’ll last for a long time — trend or not.
