MAC makeup artist Mike Potter said the inspiration for this look was a “melancholy Cleopatra.” Um, we’d say that’s pretty dang accurate. That model certainly doesn’t look like a cheerful Cleopatra.

Potter used MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack, $15 to create the uber-thick line on the models’ lids. For a similar (but less scary) look, you could try a much thinner swipe of black liner and extend it out a bit toward your temples.
