Forget flats this fall. It seems like every type of shoe is heading up — as in up in the air. And we mean EVERY shoe, including high-heeled loafers. Bet you never thought you would see that combo. According to Roberts, platform booties are the shoe must-have for fall 2011, especially since the booties work for both day and night.

There are a ton of options when it comes to what works with your booties. You can keep your legs bare, add colored tights, or pair with ankle socks (Roberts’ personal fave). And if you want to incorporate another huge fall trend, pair your booties with a short leather skirt. Seen all over the runway, leather skirts have finally filtered down to cheaper stores, like Topshop, Forever 21, and Urban Outfitters.
