Then: Hair in the 1960s was all about height. Beehives and bouffants towered over the women wearing them, reaching an altitude that bordered on humorous.

Now: Thanks to a resurgence of the 1960’s style aesthetic (compliments of “Mad Men”), and the styles of soulful songstresses such as Amy Winehouse and Adele, bigger-than-life hairstyles are back. Red carpet photos and bouffant tutorials have us breaking out the hairspray and backcombing for coifs that are less structured and at a lower elevation, but make a style statement nonetheless.
