Look 5 in real life
Her thoughts: It took about 30 minutes to do both my hair and makeup.
The easiest part was the hair:
1. I brushed it out right when I got out of the shower, and I clipped up a small section of hair near the front of my face (this is a great look for girls who are growing out their bangs, btw).
2. Then I brushed it all back into a tight ponytail, and flipped the pony under into a bun.
3. I finished by applying a few drops of shine serum onto my palms and running them over my finished look.
The hardest part was the eye makeup, it took a while to find the perfect matching shade to the model’s.
1. I started by applying light blue shadow across my crease and lid, and then shimmery silver shadow in the inner corners of my eyes (both shades were taken from Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips in Blue Eye Candy, $9).
2. I used a pencil liner to create the winged tip, then traced over it with NYX Super Skinny Eye Marker, $8.99 — this is a great way to prevent mistakes.
3. Finally, I applied a pretty pink lipstick to my lips, Rimmel Moisture Renew in Pink Chic, $5.99. Then I swiped a layer of sheer gloss on top for the finishing touch.
I actually liked this look on me. It was definitely more makeup than I normally wear to work, but it didn’t look scary or overly done. My fiance thought I looked “sexy,” and he especially liked my hair pulled back. People at work kept asking me where I was going that night, which made me think that my look was party-appropriate, but I probably wouldn’t wear it to work on a regular basis.
