Her thoughts: Overall, the look was not very hard to achieve or too time consuming. I naturally have curly hair, so I had to blow it out to begin the look.

1. Before I blew out my hair, I applied a small amount of Agadir Argan Oil, $25 and blow dried my hair with a large round brush.

2. After blow drying and clipping in two rows of extensions, I then parted my hair to the side and used a 1 1/2-inch barrel ceramic curling iron to create big loose curls.

3. After curling was completed, I pulled one side of my hair behind my ears by securing bobby pins at the base of my neck.

4. Last but not least, I teased the top of my hair next to the part to add volume and then applied Garnier Fructis Full Control Anti-Humidity Hairspray, $3.50 all over to set my curls.

The makeup was pretty simple as well.

1. To create the dramatic winged eye, I used my black Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner, $7 to line my lids and then extended the liner at an angle up from the corner of my eye.

2. I also used Urban Decay Urban Lashes, $15 for an even more dramatic effect.

3. I applied a small amount of foundation: Lancome Teint Miracle, $29.50 and then added Mark Bronzing Powder, $10 on both cheeks, a little on my chin and on the top of my nose.

4. Lastly, I used Revlon ColorBurst Lipstick in Cherry Ice, $6.49 to finish off the look.

I thought this look appeared very glamorous; however, it wouldn’t be something I’d copy every day. I would definitely re-use the cat eye and red lips for a night out on the town, but would probably not part my hair to the side. I have shorter side bangs, which part on either side of my face, so it was hard to keep the side part from falling over without an extreme amount of hairspray.

Other people thought the look was very classic and elegant, but definitely something I should wear at night. Someone even told me I should consider using the look again for a formal event and use a softer red lipstick.
