Vanessa Hudgens has had long hair for as long as we can remember, so it came as quite a shock when she chopped it off in July of 2011. Granted she did so for a movie role — a gritty, pregnant teen living on the streets — but the outcry was immediate. Many dissed the short ‘do, and even Vanessa said she felt like a “soccer mom.”

While it’s a huge change, it’s growing on us. It does make her look older, but in a good way. And perhaps this mature look will help her grab more mature parts, kinda like the movie role she’s working on. Just a thought …
