Not only are makeup artists in charge of putting on the face makeup, there are times where they have to give actors full-body makeup. If an actress is wearing a low-cut dress or bikini, “we airbrush on a darker color between her bust to create that depth of cleavage, and then apply a highlighter to enhance fullness,” says Berquist-Barker.

They also do the same with the male actors to contour their abs and arms. “We go two shades darker than their natural skin tone to add more muscle definition, even if they’re already really cut,” says Berquist-Barker.
