Tip no. 8: Switch to the “tipsy tail” hairstyle for night
1. First, backcomb your hair at the crown of your head for some extra volume.
2. Sweep all your hair to one side, and secure it into a ponytail with an elastic an inch or two off the scalp. On the final loop, don’t pull the ends all the way through. This should form a bun.
3. Use your fingers to create a small hole in the space above the rubber band. Flip the bun underneath the elastic, and pull it out through the hole.
4. Then, use your fingers to tuck in or pull out any loose ends, and fluff the bun into perfection, securing down any pieces of hair with bobby pins.
Hot tip: If you have shorter layers around your face and don’t want them hanging out, do a French braid from your temple to the ponytail area before you create the tipsy tail. And if you don’t know how to do a French braid, this video tutorial will show you how.
