Undercover Makeovers: Part 1

Danielle After

Overall vibe/experience: The counter was welcoming and the ladies working were friendly. As soon as I asked to get my makeup done the ladies set me up in one of the chairs. They were not busy when I went so they were able to provided a great makeover and they seemed happy to do it.

During the makeover they asked me about my plans for the evening and what I would be wearing so they could match the makeup. She mentioned a tip or two but she didn’t really explain anything when she was doing the makeover. I was a little disappointed that she didn’t talk me through it because I don’t think I could replicate the look.

Products used: During my makeover they used around 13 products. She started by cleansing my face and then used an under-eye moisturizer and face moisturizer. She then took a lot of time to match the foundation and set it with a powder. She then used an eyeshadow primer and a smoky eye shadow kit. She used a black eye pencil and then some mascara and concealer. She finished with blush, lip liner and gloss.

Sales pressure: There was not any pressure to buy products after the makeover. I personally felt obligated to get something but she never said anything about having to buy products.

Would she go back? I would go back to the counter. I enjoyed the look and it was long lasting. The ladies working were extremely friendly. I also liked the look but I feel like it was a little dark for me. I don’t normally wear much eye makeup so it was a little overwhelming. However, I did mention that I wanted to try something different and that’s what she gave me.
