metallic smoky eye makeup look

Add a metallic smoky eye

For a night out on the town, you definitely want a more dramatic look. Ellis decided to concentrate on Jess’ eyes, and bring the metallics of the shorts into her makeup palette. Here’s how to get Jess’ makeup look:

Face: Begin with a cream-based foundation rather than a powder. Ellis says cream-based foundation is “party proof and will last longer on the face.” Then, use a blush/bronzer combo like Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact in Pink Quartz, $39, to highlight the nose, forehead, and cheeks. Finish with MAC BlushCreme in Posey, $40, on the cheeks.

Eyes: Apply a metallic eyeshadow, like MAC Frost Vex, $14.50, all over the lids, then used a soft brush to work in a black eyeshadow along your lash line. Then apply a black gel liner on the top and bottom of the lids. Continue to layer black eyeshadow onto the eyelid and blend into the liner.

Lips: Instead of using lipstick, try this trick: apply a cream-based blush, like the one used above, to lips, then top with a clear lip gloss.
