Once upon a time, there were three sisters each searching for the perfect jacket. As they walked among the racks of all the coats available in all the world (this is fairy tale, stay with me), they thought: How will I ever find the jacket that’s warm and flattering?
Suddenly a bulky, front-zip wool jacket approached the youngest sister. “Try me on! With all this extra fabric, I’m sure to keep you warm.” The sister tried on the coat and looked in the mirror. “I’m afraid you’re too big. Your bulky shape swallows my petite frame,” she said.

Meanwhile, the middle sister tried on a straight zip-up puffer jacket, while the oldest sister tried on a plain, knee-length button up. “Oh no! This just emphasizes my curvy hips — and not in a good way …” the middle sister moaned. “I look like I’m wearing a paper bag; my small waist has disappeared!” exclaimed the other sister.
“That’s because you girls aren’t shopping with your body type in mind,” said an elderly woman sitting by the fitting rooms. “Who are you?” asked the youngest sister. “Why, I’m your fairy god-fitting room attendant, and I’m here to help you find the best coat for your body.” The sisters looked at one another. “Oh, it’s not that confusing. But first, you HAVE to know your body type. If you don’t, I suggest you take this quiz, pronto,” said the woman.
“Now, with that out of the way, let’s get started. No straggling,” The woman picked up her cane and began to walk down the center aisle. All three sisters followed … and here’s what they learned about jackets and body type.
