1. Use a few drops of shine serum from mid-length through the ends. “It replaces shine that bleach-y color can take away,” Gardner says.



2. Blow dry with a paddle brush (FYI: a round brush adds body, which you don’t want right now; instead, a flat brush makes hair sleeker, as shown here). Lift at the crown for volume; otherwise, brush forward as you blow the ends so they point forward.



3. Define the ends with a blob of hair wax (try Goldwell Profiler Mousse Wax, $9.99).
