Odd Secrets from Fashion Week

Models don’t show up with flawless skin

They may look perfect strutting down the runway, but they don’t always sit down in the makeup chair that way. Some makeup artists noted that models will often show up with their bodies a darker tone than their faces (from too much sun), and they have to work to even it out.

Skin care brand Arcona was backstage at Lela Rose, and their experts said most models end up with irritated skin by the end of the week — days of using alcohol wipes to remove makeup and putting on literally hundreds of products definitely takes its toll. So while it might sound fun to have your makeup done five times a day, the redness and puffy eyes we saw on a couple models backstage would indicate otherwise.
