Minka Kelly’s piece-y braid is fun, quirky and perfect for a night out on the town. Here’s how Grmolyes says to get the look:

1. Start by applying some product to unwashed hair to add texture and hold before you start.



2. Wrap pieces of hair around a 1-inch curling iron — you don’t want a full curl, but you just want to add some movement to your hair.



3. Start braiding the hair, angle it over your shoulder, not a straight back braid. Once the braid is secured with a thin elastic, feel free to play with it, mess it up a little, pull some hair out.



4. If you want a more polished look, you can wrap a small piece of hair around the elastic, and secure it with a small bobby pin. Finish with strong-hold hairspray.
