Emma Stone’s updo might look complicated, but it’s actually fairly easy to do. Here’s how Angelo David of the Angelo David Salon in New York says to get the look:

1. Start by spraying your damp hair with texturizing spray. Since you want your hair to have messy texture, blow dry your hair roughly using your fingers.



2. Once your hair is dry, divide it into two sections (leaving out your bangs, if you have them). Loosely braid each section and combine them into a single braid beginning at the nape of your neck.



3. Tuck the bottom half of your hair underneath the braid, and secure it with bobby pins. Sweep your bangs to the side of your face.



4. Play with sections of your hair and pull them out of the braid to create a messy yet sexy feel. Add a sparkly hair clip on one side for a flirty touch.



5. Spray all over with flexible-hold hairspray to give it hold without the stiffness (try L’Oreal Paris Studio Line Perfect Fix Hairspray, $5.15).
