Myth No. 2: “Brushing your hair a lot makes it healthier”

While brushing your hair helps move the natural oils from your scalp to the ends of your hair, celebrity hair and scalp expert Philip B. says that you should stick to only a few strokes with a gentle brush (which means 100 times a night is definitely overdoing it). Brushing your hair too much can actually cause breakage, says celebrity hairstylist David Babaii. It can even activate your oil glands and make your hair greasier.
