Despite what you’ve been told, you shouldn’t apply products to your hair when it’s dripping wet, says Kris Sorbie, Education Artistic Director for Redken 5th Avenue. This dilutes your hair products and makes them less effective. Instead, blow dry your hair until it’s damp (or if you have time, let it air dry), and then apply your styling products and finish drying. Short hair is an exception since it dries so quickly, says Sorbie.
